This innovation comprises of several parts i.e. introduction of modern mobile mill for teared stumps, the mill and the transporter for the siftings, replacement of high-powered engines, introduction of system for dust suction. Structural scheme of the process after modernisation is presented in the figure.


Modernization in the peat mining and production processes makes it possible to increase the efficient usage of raw material, to reduce fuel consumption and air emissions. The technology is practically tested.

Environmental Aspects
  • Increase in efficient usage of raw material - more than 5 %;
  • Reduction in fuel consumption - 3.54 t/ year;
  • Reduction in lubricant consumption - 28 l/ year;
  • Reduction in CO, NOx, CnHm, SO2 and PM emissions from mobile sources of pollution.
Social Aspects (related to the work conditions)
  •  Improvement of personnel health and work safety conditions.
Economic Aspects
Total investment is approximately 72 000 EUR. Total profit from the project implementation in a given case was almost 72 000 EUR/ year (payback period - 1 year).
