During the yarn formation from the acetate solution process, high amounts of the acetone vapour compose, especially in the spinning shaft. The essence of the innovation implemented in the company is the localization of the acetone evaporation and their further supply to the regeneration device. Structural scheme of the process after modernisation is presented in the figure.


Optimization of the process in the chemical fiber production makes it possible to reduce acetone consumption, air emissions and the negative health impact. The technology is practically tested.

Environmental Aspects
  • Reduction in acetone vapour emissions - more than 240 t/ year
  • Reduction in acetone consumption for a ton of the acetate yarn - 18.5 kg/ t;
  • Reduction in acetone vapours concentration in the ambient air - 150 mg/ m3.
Social Aspects (related to the work conditions)
  • Reduction in noise level;
  • Improvement of personnel health and work safety conditions.
Economic Aspects
Total investment is approximately 273 000 EUR. Total profit from the project implementation in a given case was almost 155 000 EUR/ year (payback period - 1.8 years).
